Party Shooting Leaves One Dead and Six Injured NR25028ne

Tarzana: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of one and injuring 6 others.

On Sunday, February 9, 2025 around 1:30a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Area patrol officers, responded to a “Shooting Just Occurred” radio call at 5900 block of Winnetka Avenue in Tarzana.

When officers arrived, they determined there was a large party at the location. The officers located a male victim on the ground in the driveway with a gunshot wound. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and rendered medical aid. The victim failed to respond to medical treatment and was pronounced deceased at scene. Six additional victims are being treated at local hospitals for gunshot wounds.

The suspect(s) have not been identified.

The victim’s identification is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation into what led to the shooting is ongoing. Detectives from Operation Valley Bureau Homicide are actively canvassing the neighborhood for surveillance video and witnesses.
